Carey Hart, Holds Down 5th In Points in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series Unlimited-2

If there is anyone involved in the offroad industry who is considered full of activity and follows a demanding schedule, there are several names that surface to the top. The likes of Robby Gordon and Travis Pastrana are two “house-hold” names that face a rigorous weekly schedule. As of late, Carey Hart has more than shown he has the wherewithal to not only handle operations of his Hart and Huntington Empire, field a successful AMA Supercross Team (rider won 2009 privateer of the year), compete at the X Games, but now also competes in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series Unlimited-2 Truck Division.

One of the premiere classes in off road racing, Unlimited-2 Trucks are full size, 2wd purpose built short course race trucks. There is no limit to horsepower, but it generally ranges between 700-900 hp. Unlimited 2 trucks have a maximum body width of 80 inches and the minimum weight including the driver is 3,750 pounds.

Carey Hart has crossed over into short course racing and said he is in it for the long haul. “Lucas Oil is taking this series up to a whole new level,” he said. Other motocross superstars who have crossed over into short-course racing are Metal Mulisha founder Brian Deegan and SuperCross Legend Jeff Ward who also pilots an Unlimted-2 and is a direct competitor of Carey Hart.

The 2009 Lucas Oil Off Road Season started back in April and has already brought much life and excitement back into short course off road racing. Driving a 900HP ProPower Ford, Hart is the front man for the Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group. A professional offroad powerhouse that umbrellas 8 separate racing programs, the PMG Operation has already racked up 23 Podiums, 16 of which are direct results from the 2009 Lucas Oil Off Road Series.

Hart has recently returned from a whirl wind tour where Carey held a series of free motocross events surrounding Pink’s Funhouse Tour that criss-crossed the “Land Down Under” for a three-month tour. Pink – real name Alecia Moore – has smashed attendance records for female artists performing at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. By the end of her 10-date run, she entertained sold out crowds to over 115,598 people.

With time being a luxury for Carey, practice and wheel time with his #46 U-2 Truck has been hard to come by. As a matter of fact, most of the seat time has been on race weekends and under the green flag. Hart’s 2009 rookie season has been an eye opening experience. “I’m new to this sport and I have a lot of passion about it. It’s a learning process right now and I have a long way to go and climb up that racing ladder, but we’re going to be giving the competition hell.” What is most impressive is Carey’s ability to make the finish under the checkered flag nearly every race. In the short course discipline, crunching contact between vehicles, truck launching jumps, high speed 4 wheel drifts, and devastating wrecks often take out half the field of competitors. By staying consistent, Carey has battled to a solid 5th in the U-2 Division season battle.

Rockstar Energy, once again, stepped up the involvement and participation, creating the Rockstar alley of short course supported teams. As far as the eye could see, there was trucks, RC-Cars, enthusiasts, banners, flags, and girls throughout the Pit Compound. The Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group massive setup was closest to the entry. As the fans funneled into the facility, they were treated to a variety of ice cold Rockstar Energy Drinks, and all the hippest looking trucker hats one could handle. Half a dozen of the hottest Rockstar Girls were out in force passing out posters and stickers taking pictures with those lucky enough to attend.

At the Rockstar Hart and Huntington Pit, autographs were not hard to come by. Carey Hart, plus 6 additional Premiere Motorsports Group Drivers had scheduled signings each day. If you did not stop by, you are likely to catch one of several interviews, as we hosted ESPN Brasil, K&N, and the production team that prepares the official race coverage for SPEED, VERSUS, The Outdoor Channel and more. SPEED’s Program for LOORS Rounds 7&8 will air Aug 9, at 2 & 3pm or Aug 23 at 1 & 2pm. FOX Channel 11’s Morning Team came out early Friday Morning and aired live on the track action and interviews with Carey Hart, and several others. 4 different segments were broadcasted to millions of viewers throughout Los Angles County. Hart’s thought’s on the Lucas Oil Off Road Experience, “It’s great racing, a lot of banging … comparable to going out and watching a motocross race. But it’s great for the whole family. Any kid can come by my truck for an autograph; it’s very family friendly.”

Just days after smashing it down and racing a 900HP short course truck in Lake Elsinore, Carey Hart is set up and prepared to compete in the 2009 X Games XV Super Moto Event. He will be running his late brother Anthony Hart’s race number (121) and name plate in his memory who passed away August of last year. SuperMoto goes down Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 1:30 – 2 p.m. You can catch all the action on ESPN and ABC all of this weekend, or doors to the Home Depot Center open at 10:00am.

Rockstars And Fireworks Burn It Up At Lake Elsinore Short Course

After experiencing the thrills of short course off road racing during the last rounds at Lucas Oil Motorsports Complex, it was apparent the Lucas Oil Off Road Series Organizers had assembled all the necessary elements to host a successful event that could appeal to dedicated fans and new enthusiasts. There was just one large issue that kept the event from selling out and it started with triple digit day time temperatures. Lucas Oil put their money where their mouth is and announced early on that Rounds 7 & 8 would be held after dark and under the lights. With the formula in place and another LOORRS exciting race weekend set, the crowds flocked to Lake Elsinore filling the Lucas Oil Motorsports Complex to near capacity and witnessed some of the very best short course racing to date.

Rockstar Energy, once again, stepped up the involvement and participation, creating the Rockstar alley of short course supported teams. As far as the eye could see, there was trucks, RC-Cars, flags, banners, enthusiasts, and girls throughout the Pit Compound. The Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group massive setup was closest to the entry with Brian Deegan’s Rockstar Metal Mulisha Unlimited Lite pit right across the way. Rockstar’s Team Leduc made their first appearance at Lucas Oil Off Road, and were rewarded big time as they swept the weekend in two Unlimited Truck divisions.

Carey Hart, who is currently sitting 5th in the Unlimited 2 division points, plus 6 additional Premiere Motorsports Group Drivers had scheduled signings each day. FOX Channel 11’s Morning Team came out early Friday Morning and aired live on the track action and interviews with Carey Hart, Rodrigo Ampudia, Leroy Lerowald, and several others. 4 different segments were broadcasted to millions of viewers throughout Los Angles County.

With 7 programs competing in 6 separate divisions, the PMG Operation stretched over two transport semi’s long. There was quite a lot going on but the environment spelled out controlled chaos. Scot Demmer, who drove the team’s Unlimited Buggy during the previous round, resolved to mange a smoothly run weekend over driving. The reward was 5 separate podium finishes. The team has also stepped up the Unlimited 2 program with the likes of Blake Wilkey and Dustin Pence. Dustin retains years of experience building and maintaining championship winning off road trucks. These two had their hands full with lots of carnage coming off the track, however it was the group effort put forth that pushed every vehicle to make the checkered flag and finish eight out of eight races.

PMG’s Unlimited Lite specialist has been on a nonstop push chasing multiple short course series back and forth across the country. In fair contention for two separate 2009 championships, Chris Brandt has put it all on the line for light truck bragging rights. During Friday’s practice and qualifying, the #82 Toyota motor kicked a huge hole through the wall of the cast block. Brandt facing his share of struggles and tribulations, he and his crew tore down the truck and prepared for the upcoming battles. Chris pulled it all together and brought home a 3rd place finish for Round 7 and fashioned a clearly dominating performance to bring home his first 2009 Unlimited Lite 1st place finish on Sunday’s Round 8.

John Fitzgerald’s has mounted a charge coming off of two back to back 1st place wins at a recent Bark River TORC event. Coming to Lake Elsinore, John aimed to keep the momentum flowing and laid down the assault on the Lucas Oil Limited Buggy Division. Not only did Fitzgerald claim the pole qualifying time, but John piloted his #314 Lucas Oil Hart and Huntington Buggy to a 1st place finish on Saturday and a 2nd place finish on Sunday. Because of a late season start, John has yet to break into the top five points battle, but if the Limited Buggy domination continues, it is only a matter of time before Fitzgerald secures Premiere Motorsports Group several of the available 2009 Buggy Championships.

Chad Leising earned another 3rd place podium during Round 8, but had the crowd on their feet when he was leading the eventful race of Round 7. Starting from the last row, Chad launched off the start moving through the field and securing 2nd place by Turn 3 of the first lap. It was clean racing full of great battles right up to the white flag lap when the 2nd place competitor attempted to snake away a win smashing through Turn 3 and right into the #17 Lucas Oil Hart and Huntington SuperLite. Instead of forcing the line, the #20 drove up and over the front of Leising’s truck and rolled on its side nearly blocking any escape. Chad was able to recover somewhat but had already fallen back to 3rd. Right away it was apparent that there was another problem as the truck was almost unresponsive with a broken axle. Chad faded to a 6th place finish on Saturday. Before hitting the track again on Sunday, the PMG SuperLite Crew jammed for about 14 hours repairing in preparation for Round 8. Sunday’s race was a struggle as well when Leising announced he had zero brake pressure with two laps to go. Being able to make the podium and secure the needed season points was a victory in itself. Chad is still trailing John Harrah by 8 points, but now has to face a new contender, Ricky James who surprised everyone winning both events during his first time racing behind the wheel of a SuperLite . Ricky James co-rode with Leising during Round 1.

So far this season, 3 PMG Drivers alone, have racked up 23 Podiums, 16 of which are direct results from the 2009 Lucas Oil Off Road Series.

Not only was Rockstar’s presence and influence increased on and off the track, but National Marketing Director, Mike Kelso, got into the mix and announced “the most famous words in motorsports” during Saturday’s opening ceremonies. At each race weekend so far, LOORS has created special edition trophies and every racer that fought their way to a podium this weekend, earned a very customized Rockstar Trophy. Later on in the evening Kelso would go on to co-drive in the Rockstar Hart and Huntington SuperLite. Kelso shared his excitement at the end of the night, “I have a decent amount of seat time with my desert racing affiliations, but wow, the wheel to wheel action and going for the lead was one of the craziest things I have ever done. What a rush!”

The Premiere Motorsports Group compound was host to hundreds of guest, friends, and family. Lucas Oil Off road staff, track workers, and officials often found time to take a break, find an ice cold beverage, or show up just in time for a plate of hot & fresh Chronic Tacos. Private parties, a full size above ground pool provided by OC Pools, and plenty of great people, made the Rockstar Hart and Huntington Pit the place to be throughout the weekend.

Awesome Wheel to Wheel Off Road Action Earns Premiere Motorsports Group Back to Back Podium Finishes in Two Separate Divisions At TORC Bark River

Off road racing is well known for its unprecedented wheel to wheel contact between the competitors, high action racing excitement, crazy points battles, and devastating crashes. This type of motorsport can take its toll on even the most well prepared teams removing them out of contention and stealing 1st place win right from their grips. The common phrase is, “Well that’s racing!” and the scenario is all too common.

Similar circumstances played out this last weekend at Bark River International Raceway. Big names, legendary drivers and 12,000 local enthusiasts found themselves basking in the cool Michigan sun for two exciting rounds of the Traxxas Off Road Championship. The summer season is not exactly synonymous with off road racing, however recently you will likely find thousands attending major short course off road events several times a month.

Undoubtedly the most exciting yet, Rounds 7 & 8 of TORC will air on ESPN2 this Sunday, July 19th at 11:30am ET. Check your local listings for accurate program scheduling. Tune in below for some highlights.

Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group were well represented at Rounds 7 & 8 of TORC. Chris Brandt brought his “A-Game” and piloted the #82 ProLight to two consecutive 2nd place finishes. Some of the very best drivers compete in this division and Brandt had his hands full during each race of the weekend. At one point the Rockstar fueled Toyota lead most of Round 7 to the competition caution gaining extra points. After falling back to 4th on the restart Chris had to battle with Jeff Kincaid, Casey Currie, and fought off Marty Hart for 4 laps to earn a second place finish and the back to back podiums. This now puts Chris Brandt in 3rd place for the seasons point standings. Chris has been to Bark River a number of times but has had his share of bad luck. “Going into the race weekend, I just wanted to stay competitive in points and move up. Jeff Kincaid and Chad Hord know this track better than just about anyone, it would be hard to beat them on their worst day. They both seemed to share a bit of bad luck. That is racing and I am thrilled with our results this weekend.” In good position with just 7 points out of 1st place, Chris is well poised to continue his smooth driving style and consistent top 5 finishes to take the 2009 TORC ProLight Championship.

1600 Driver John Fitzgerald surprised many by stepping up and sweeping Bark River in his Lucas Oil Hart and Huntington PMG Limited Buggy. During a recent interview John commented on his strategy going into the weekend. “I just need to stay clean through Turn 1, avoid wrecks, and pick them off 1 by 1. To beat out the main competition, all I had to do was apply the pressure and capitalize when they make a mistake.” After the race, Fitzgerald was pumped, “It feels great to wrap up the weekend with a late race pass and take two 1st place trophies home.” Now tied with Mark Steinhardt for 1st place in the current points standings, Fitz has another competitive rival, Mike Seefeldt chasing close behind in 2nd place.

These two short course “Aces” have committed to the entire TORC Series as well as Lucas Oil Off Road Series being their primary focus. A fast paced schedule with the various events spread out all over the nation applies a tremendous amount of pressure and loads of additional prep time on PMG’s two-timing short course duo. While the main competition from TORC has just about a month off, Chris Brandt, and John Fitzgerald are rebuilding the race cars back in Iowa and thrashing to prepare for the next event coming up in Southern California.

What is sure to be the West Coast highlight of short course offroad motorsports, Lucas Oil Off Road Organizers have moved back the schedule for Rounds 7 & 8, to later in the evening and under the lights. Taking place on July 25th & 26th at the newly developed Lucas Oil Motorsports Complex, racers, crews, and motorsport enthusiasts of all shapes and sizes have declared this the prime destination for off road short course racing.

Looking forward to carrying this victorious momentum to Lake Elsinore, the rest of the Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group is testing, prepping, tuning and testing again. The largest team in offroad, 8 PMG Drivers will compete in 6 different divisions consisting of Unlimited-2, Unlimited-Lite, SuperLite, Unlimited Buggy, Limited Buggy, and Modified Trophy Karts. When the big show arrives, the PMG Operation will have constructed a huge compound to manage the controlled chaos. It may be hot, so stop by for some ice cold Rockstar Energy Drinks, and pickup a cool Umbrella or any other Rockstar Hart and Huntington merchandise. Plus, Carey Hart will be available during scheduled autographs sessions and photo opportunities.

SuperLites Fastest Driver Wins Round 5 of the Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series

Rockstar hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group driver Chad Leising, brought the team their second consecutive SuperLite victory. This is a huge victory for the season as it thins the Championship point’s margin between John Harrah and Chad Leising. Currently Harrah is ahead of Chad by a small lead.

The Rockstar Hart and Huntington PMG Team welcomed Lucas Oil as the title sponsor of Chad’s #17 SuperLite. For everyone involved with the program, it was important to put our best foot forward during the Lake Elsinore event and present Lucas Oil with positive results right on and off the track.

After an awesome first place qualifying session during Friday afternoon, Leising now held the fastest lap time of the SuperLite division going into Round 5 Racing. Starting from fourth position after the inversion, Chad would have to make moves throughout the 10 lap event to gain the lead position. On the opening lap, the young gun Joey Granatelli gets a little sideways and bangs into two other trucks as they were all going into Turn 1 three wide. Chad immediately capitalized and cruised up to 2nd position. The officials opt to restart the race because of the sloppy start. The field was restacked and the green flag waiving the SuperLites powered through the muddy track fighting for position. Chad comes out hauling in 3rd after getting around Granatelli once more. Keeping all the momentum he can muster Chad gains speed and makes a spectacular pass for 2nd over the huge backstretch table top. The action on the track was heating up and the body panels were peeling off several trucks due to the wheel to wheel brutality and contact between competitors. At some point Chad’s lost nearly all of his driver side skins.

The competition yellow was flagged to stack the SuperLites and prepare for an all out sprint to the finish. During the down time, the announcers from Totally Off Road Radio who were doing live commentating had nothing but positive comments about Chad, his consistent driving style and impressive career to date. The heat was intense but the fans seemed to be enjoying the days hot action.

With the green flag out, the spotters strongly encouraging each of their drivers, and loud whine of the Mazda Rotary spinning, The SuperLites powered through the Lake Elsinore Track which featured huge table tops, a rhythm section, 6 turns, and deep bowls making for a fast fun course. Chad chased John Harrah through the track during restart preparing to move in and steal the lead. Harrah spins his #13 SuperLite out in the last turn before the front straight away and Leising cruises into the lead. Chad immediately opens a huge gap over the second place. Harrah shows impressive resilience and closes the gap on the back stretch bringing the action side by side. Both drivers exchanged the lead back and forth bringing the filled to near capacity grandstands on their feet in anticipation. The white flag comes out with Chad in control of the race and running strong. The checkered flag drops with Chad flying through the front tabletop and earning an impressive 1st place victory.

Before the champagne celebration back in the PMG Pits, Chad was interviewed by the SPEED Production Team and then headed to the podium to thank Ryan Busnardo of Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group and all the sponsors of the #17 Lucas Oil SuperLite including Forest Lucas, Bob Patison, and Tony Vanillo for all their hard work and dedication that has gone into the development of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series.

What makes this win even more impressive is during the start the alternator failed. This mechanical issue created a much more complicated scenario leaving Leising and a guest co-driver to fumble with the cars electronics the entire time on the course. Leising’s Crew Chief Craig Stevens determined the remaining battery power would be reserved for oil coolers, MSD box, and radio only. To preserve as much juice as possible they cut the power to the electrical fans for the radiator, cut the parker pumpers that provide fresh air, and switched off power steering down on the straight aways. It was concluded later there was likely only enough battery left for another lap as the voltage creeped below nine volts.

The SuperLite FPO Spec Trucks all retain identical power plants creating an even playing field. Chad proved throughout the weekend that he is the most consistent and fastest driver in his division by flying his #17 Lucas Oil SuperLite at speeds just under 50 MPH and lap times that were consistently getting faster. Starting out with a 1:15.5 from Friday’s practice, and a qualifying lap time of 1:15.2, Chad was able to improve his time scoring a 1:12.9 during Sunday’s event. Only John Harrah placed a faster time than Chad with a 1:12.2, also during Sunday.

Chad would like to give a special thanks to Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premier Motorsports group, Lucas Oil, Stevens Motorsports and Ryan Busnardo, for all of their support with bringing in another the great win! We’d like to thank General Tire for all of their support; their company and personnel really stood up and made a positive influence in the races today.

“You’re only as good as your last race. Tomorrow is a new day we are going right back at it for the win!” -#17 Chad Leising

Premiere Motorsports Group Gets Hot and Dirty in Lake Elsinore

Lucas Oil pulled off what seemed nothing short of a miracle and what many called impossible. The grounds and facility that was previously know as the Lake Elsinore Motocross Park has been completely transformed and is well on its way to becoming a world class motorsports destination. Now officially titled, Lucas Oil Motorsports Complex, this new short course venue offers insane speeds, huge jumps, and exciting wheel-to-wheel racing competition.

Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group hauled out truck load after truck load of high performance vehicles, race cars, supplies, gear and equipment to construct an impressive compound within the designated fan friendly Lucas Oil Motorsports Complex pit area. The temporary base of operation was prepared to supply the 50 + PMG Crew members with anything and everything for the two days of race action, one full practice day, as well as ample setup and tear down time.

The Lake Elsinore Sun gods seemed to hoard all of June’s warm temperatures and splurged a near overwhelming heat wave down on the enthusiasts and race teams that filled into the valley during the race weekend. High pressure combined with humidity made for scorching temperatures that reached 102° on Saturday and 112° on Sunday. Difficult conditions and uncomfortable heat raised the level of desperation for some, lowered the moral of others; however it was apparent that the fans and crew members enjoyed the excitement of short course racing and often found comfort in the designated Cool Zones that the Lucas Oil Off Road Series primed for the thousands of enthusiast. Well prepared vendors sold hundreds of manually operated misters, and $1 bottles of water. Smart thinking individuals brought fully stocked coolers, which were permitted and umbrellas were the hot ticket item purchased from the various merchants for personal shade.

As impressive as the PMG Pit setup was, the Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group Hospitality Area rivaled what could be found at any NASCAR Event. Completely outfitted with a live DJ, Go-Go Dancers, an endless supply of ice cold beverages, and Chronic Tacos catering breakfast lunch and dinner, PMG offered VIPs, guests and family members a desert paradise to escape the heat and take a break between the hot racing action on the track. Custom Motorcycles and even an exotic Lamborghini, provided by J Star Motors were all on display as conversation pieces.

A standard off road short course race team will likely manage one or two race efforts under the same roof. The Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group has organized eight programs in six different divisions with nine race vehicles and nine drivers, all under one umbrella operation.

Action Sport super star, Carey Hart is the Rockstar Hart and Huntington front man leading the team with a powerful 900 HP Unlimited 2 Ford. As Hart’s extremely pressed schedule has him darting from Tour’s & Shows across the globe to various appearances all throughout the media channels, Carey has a limited amount of seat time and practice in his new truck. However, each opportunity behind the wheel Carey shows great improvement and competitive lap times comparable to his veteran rivals.

Josh Merrelll, is just about as fresh a rookie as can be, yet shows great potential. Piloting the Rockstar Hart and Huntington #22 U-2, Josh is one of the PMG Team Proprietors and will soon be a force to be reckoned with as soon as his crew removes the Chevy LS7 and drops in the Massive Pro Power Motor.

Chris Brandt has shown the short course world that he has the skills and equipment to battle for multiple titles and is doing so by competing in both the top series of 2009. Running up front with top 5 lap times or better, Chris has already earned 4 consecutive 2nd place podium finishes and is giving Unlimited Lite’s winningest driver, Robert Naughton a run for his money at every single event. The new track at the Lucas Oil Motorsports Complex issued a big disadvantage for Brandt’s #82 Rockstar Geico Toyota and favored the top end of the Ford powered U-L’s with long straight aways and a much less technical track than the series drivers are accustomed to. Either way PMG’s Unlimited Lite Driver has committed to a very tuff schedule crossing the country back and forth, competing at every short course event and multiple times a month. It is safe to say Brandt has stepped up with a specialized program and challenging for multiple championships.

To date, Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group’s biggest surprise weapon in the short course arsenal has been Chad Lesing, who according to most of the division’s press, is “the one to look out for”. Even though Chad is chasing 1st in the points battle, Leising’s #17 Lucas Oil/Geico Powersports SuperLite is undoubtedly the fastest driver in the class. Often his competitors will consult with Chad for assistance and tips attempting to improve their race effort. New comers, Jason Patison (NASCAR Camping World West series driver) and Jason Ellis (Professional Skateboarder and SIRIUS Radio Personality), among other seasoned competitors have all conferred with Chad to quickly learn best way to get up to speed with these tricky spec vehicles. Chad’s recent accomplishments consist of a 2008 championship, 4 podium finishes within 6 races, and two consecutive 1st place victories one of which was the race of the weekend during Rounds 5 and 6. Click here for a complete race report.

Trucks are not the only race cars in the Rockstar hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group Pits. Scot Demmer, PMG Team Manager, and John Fitzgerald, both pilot buggies in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series. Scot entered his #922 Lucas Oil Unlimited Buggy for the first time this season and has delivered competitive results. You can look forward to Scot at future events as he dials in his race effort and aims for the podium in a very competitive class. Fitzgerald is a recognizable name and unlimited buggy specialist. By no means a slouch, John has exploded onto the scene and is highly skilled flying the #314 Lucas Oil Limited Buggy to multiple podiums.

The entertaining Trophy Kart division is considered the farming field for tomorrow’s generation of professional drivers. Rockstar Hart and Huntington PMG has made a considerable investment and is backing Anthony Busnardo and Brandon Vermillion in the elite Trophy Kart Modified division. These two youngsters are very motivated and carry themselves with a great attitude. Their maturity can be seen as they fight through the talented field of Trophy Kart drivers and work out the tribulations that can be experienced within any type of motorsports.

Chad Leising Takes The Win In SuperLite at Round 4 of Lucas Oil Off Road Racing

Lucas Oil Off Road Series held Arizona’s first major short course event at Speed World Motorsports Facility in Surprise, AZ. Rounds 3 & 4 of LOORS, brought two full days of sold out crowds to catch the exciting wheel to wheel action that took place over the weekend. Dan Matthews, owner of Speed World, and his team created an ideal short course venue while creating a fan friendly atmosphere complete with open pits and plenty of interaction with the racers.

The SuperLite Championship has quickly become the division that features some of the fiercest battles and wheel to wheel carnage within the Lucas Oil Off Road Series. During the recent Rounds 3 & 4 that took place May 2nd & 3rd, Chad Leising emerged as a strong competitor, once again placing the Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group backed SuperLite on the podium and challenging for the win at each event.

Tony Talbert, General Tire’s Light Truck Product Manager, joined Leising as a guest co pilot. Tony was instrumental in monitoring the cockpit gauges, relaying information to the spotter, and keeping an eye out for dangerous hazards, while Chad focused on the task at hand. Being able to experience the insane wheel to wheel excitement first hand was quite exhilarating as Chad energized the crowd and impressed many by fighting off the dominant Speed Technologies threesome of John Harrah, Johnny Harrah and Chuck Dempsey who are some of the divisions top competitors.

Friday
Chad Leising’s #17 SuperLite suffered from major engine failure while in staging for Fridays practice, eliminating any opportunity for decent seat time on the new track. SuperLite Crew members Blake Wilkey and Brett Ferguson tore into the truck pulling the Mazda 13B Rotary Engine for motor specialist, Craig Stevens to begin an all-night rebuild. Working till 4:00am the next morning the 3 finally had the #17 SuperLite back together and headed to the hotel for a short nap. About 9:00am and back at the PMG pits, Craig had the motor fired up for the first time running loud and smooth like a Rotary motor should.
Saturday Round #3
Failing to qualify on Friday, Chad Started at the back of the grid. The strategy called for an easy consistent start while letting his competitors make mistakes and take themselves out of contention. On lap 1 Leising pilots the #17 SuperLite through the field as #18 rolls in the moguls and again avoids more carnage down the front stretch. On Lap 2, Chad passes two more SuperLites in Turn 6 and moves into 4th place. By this time, the Speed Technologies Father/Son duo had taken over the lead positions and checked out from the rest of the field. On Lap 6, Chad engaged Chick Dempsey for 3rd and eventually got around him. The Competition Yellow comes out and packs the SuperLites up nice and tight. During the restart the #9 in 2nd place spun out, Chad quickly takes advantage and moves in while the rest of the field struggles for position. The track freshly watered down is becoming a bit greasy and Chad mistakenly gets loose resulting in a complete spin out dropping him back down to last place. On the same lap the #20 of Joey Granatelli threw his SuperLite into the moguls “lawn dart” style resulting in a brutal wreck that Red Flagged the race. The #17 at this point was having heating issues. During the Green/White/Checkered Restart, SuperLite Rookie & UTV Superstar, Cory Weller makes contact with Leising as they are both flying off the big finish line jump. Luckily, Cory stayed pinned into the side of Chad sending him all the way around instead of a barrel roll, which likely would have happened if he had caught in an edge. Chad, fortunate to have finished at all, earned a respectable 5th place and gained 42 valuable championship points.

Sunday Round 5
A two row inversion made the start of Round 4 quite interesting. David Reyes and John Harrah led the SuperLites off the Green Flag. Chad caught an awesome start, and pulls Brandon Bailey through Turn 1.Harrah moves into the lead while Reyes spins his #77 out. Chad than tucks his Rockstar SuperLite right into 2nd place while the rest of the competitors tangled up coming through Turn 5. Leising pushes the #17 hard to close the gap on Harrah and finally catching him on Lap 4. The back straight away allows Chad to pass for 1st and pull away with the lead. A reckless spin causes a full coarse caution and ends a 15 + car cushion over 2nd. The LOORS officials declare Competition Yellow. On the restart Wheller spins out again but Brandon Bailey knocks her back in line. Leising got off to another great start and was running the fastest lap times with plenty of clean air. Harrah manages to close in on Chad’s PMG SuperLite dropping inside of Turn 5 and robbing 1st place back. Chad, hungry for the win, fires back passing high and regains the lead. The white flag comes out, and Dempsey out of nowhere, runs up along side of the #17 in an attempt to stake his claim for a victory, makes contact with Leising. Chad somehow gets the upper hand and defends his lead leaving Dempsey to battle with Harrah. Chad pulls away and takes his first win of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series in a very exciting finish.

Chad Leising, the reigning 2008 SuperLite Champion spoke on the podium about his new Team Partnership with Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group and graciously thanked everyone involved. “It really means a lot to me to have won this race,’’ Chad exclaimed, “with the support from PMG Racing this is just the first of many victories for the Rockstar Hart and Huntington Team. We are going for the Bully Dog SuperLite Championship.”

After achieving the 1st place finish, Chad solidified his short course skills and established to the SuperLite Series and Racers that he will be a force to be reckoned with throughout the rest of the season. Looking forward to the next Round of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series, Leising and the #17 Rockstar Hart and Huntington SuperLite are tied for 2nd overall against Johnny Harrah at 184 points trailing John Harrah at 191 points. It will be no easy task competing against the Speed Technologies powerhouse, who also happens to be the organizing force that is developing the series. Chad however, is confident that with Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group backing his 2009 program he will be consistent and fighting for the win.

The SuperLite Championship will run at each and every round of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series during the 2009 schedule. Each SuperLite Championship Event will be featured in its own TV show on the Outdoor Channel covering the races and drivers competing in the SuperLite Championship.

Orange County, CA (May 14, 2009)

ROCKSTAR Hart & Huntington PMG Racing’s Chris Brandt Thrills Arizona Offroad Fans
At The LUCAS OIL OFF ROAD RACING Series

Lucas Oil Off Road Series held Arizona’s first major short course event at Speed World Motorsports Facility in Surprise, AZ. Rounds 3 & 4 of LOORS, brought two full days of sold out crowds to catch the exciting wheel to wheel action that took place over the weekend. Dan Matthews, owner of Speed World, and his team created an ideal short course venue while creating a fan friendly atmosphere complete with open pits and plenty of interaction with the racers.

Premiere Motorsports Groups very own Lite Truck specialist, Chris Brant in the #82 Toyota entered into the weekend as the #2 contender in the Unlimited Lite division behind Robert Naughton. Both former champions in their own right with a number of accolades achieved throughout their careers, this light truck division has seen some of the most exciting wheel to wheel action so far. Rounds 3 and 4 were nothing short of exhilarating and provided the fans with the best racing of the weekend.

Friday
Consistently fast right off the start, Brandt recorded the fastest lap times during the first practice session. Keeping up the pace by qualifying 2nd, Chris later stated on Friday evening “I feel real good and the truck is very fast. I think I have some good lines where the rest of the field may have some trouble. It is all about keeping momentum, and Goodyear has got the tires figured out to help put the traction down.”

Saturday
Placed way back deep in the field after a four row inversion, Chris Brandt moved the #82 Toyota from seventh to second in the first three turns! By lap two he easily moves by the #33 truck, taking 1st. On lap 3, Brandt extended his lead during a heated 4-way battle between Brian Deegan, Casey Currie, Robert Naughton and Kyle Conlon. Somehow the rookie Conlon used his desert racing skills to get by Deegan and Naughton as they were engaged in a war for second. The rest of the laps were a breeze for the #82 as he laid down fast consistent lap times and smooth line choices. During the restart after the Competition Yellow, Chris Brandt powered into a nice hole shot but it was all for not as Chuck Dempsey was forced into a K-Rail and barrel rolled into a nasty wreck down the moguls. Adding to the carnage the #33 truck got into the back of Kyle Conlon resulting in a complete restart. Brandt’s #82 and Naughton’s #54 were positioned for a wheel to wheel dual during the remaining laps. Nuaghton dives inside and takes the lead. Chris fights back and makes the exchange, and even Deegan comes out of nowhere to stick his nose in. In the end Brandt takes a hard earned 2nd place finish for Round 3.

Sunday
Chris took to the track early on Sunday during the qualifying session and again laid down consistently fast times, resulting in yet another 2nd place qualifying position. It was well noted by Totally Offroad Radio commentator Jim Holthus “Chris Brandt is owning the mogul rhythm section.” Sometime before the Unlimited Lite Racing of Round 4, the LOORS Officials decided to knock down some of the offset moguls, eliminating Brandt’s advantage who constantly was able to speed through the rough obstacles.

As Round 4 began, the grandstands full of fans, were all on their feet. The Green flag dropped and Brian Deegan aimed his Rockstar Ranger right into the holeshot gaining the lead position. Brandt skillfully steered his Rockstar Toyota right into 2nd coming out of Turn 1. With the moguls coming up Brandt was in position and flew by Deegan to take 1st and proceeded to check out from the rest of the field. Coming around for lap 2 Chris led Deegan and Nuaghton through the high speed sweeping corner of Turn 1. Robert methodically applied pressure to Brian hoping for a mistake. It was evident that the rest of the competitors had finally warmed up as Anthony Verdone along with several others were all on the move . On lap 5 Deegan was in position to capitalize when Brandt slipped up getting a little sideways. Robert moved in and engaged in a 3 way battle for the lead. Deegan showing skills all weekend took off and left Naughton and Brandt to battle wheel to wheel for an entire lap. Chris and the #82 gained control of 2nd but only for a short time as Robert piloted the #54 sideways into the off camber Turn 5 reclaiming 2nd right back. At the Competition Yellow, it is Deegan leading Naughton and Brandt. On the pace lap, the #54 is showing fierce aggression and taps Deegan’s bumper letting him know it is on the next time around. As the green flag comes out Brian un-phased, pulls the field for nearly an entire lap. Robert Naughton skills are unmatched by Deegan and is overtaken after a nice setup into Turn 5. Brandt moves into 2nd after another choice line through the moguls. Deegan fights back and hammers into Turn 5 taking back 2nd. The battles continued throughout the field. Lap after lap challenges are attempted, shutdown, or secured. In the end it would be Robert Naughton and Chris Brandt who have each placed 1 & 2 consecutively during each of the 4 Rounds of LOORS that has taken place.

In excellent contention for the 2009 LOORS Unlimited Lite Championship, Brandt leads the Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group to a full season of double duty Light Truck Racing also committing to the Traxxas Off Road Championship Series. The first event is going down at the Texas Motor Speedway, this weekend May 15th & 16th. With Chris Brandt being the only driver in his division to get the early jump start with 4 heated rounds and 4 consecutive podium finishes already completed, the #82 Toyota is heavily favored to win at Texas against some very stiff competition. Marty Hart, Chad Hord, Jeff Kincaid, and Kyle Leduc to name a few of the talented field who are signed up for this weekend.

“Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group is thrilled to have Chris Brandt represent us in two highly competitive off road series for the 2009 season”, said Ryan Busnardo , PMG Team Leader. “Not only do we have an excellent chance to earn two championships in the premiere short course organizations, but we will enjoy double the amount of TV time and exposure throughout many of the top networks. It is a tremendous opportunity for everyone involved. “

Chris Brandt’s Light Truck Short Course Program is made possible by numerous individuals that make up the Premiere Motorsports Group. It is truly a team effort and everyone makes a significant impact by dedicating many hours preparing for each and every battle that is short course racing. The brands like Rockstar Energy, Hart & Huntington, Geico Powersports, Liquid Graphics, Honda of Santa Ana, Fantasyoff-roadracing.com, Simpson, Chronic Tacos, Lucas Oil, and Goodyear Tire will ensure a number of achievements & results throughout the 2009 season. Additional support from KMC Wheels, JSTAR Motors, National Concrete Cutting, Century Collusion Center, NRGX, Screen Works, Corona Millworks Racing, FNTech, Blurred Motion, and Bully Dog Technologies, compounds the level of accomplishment Premiere Motorsports Group has already attained.

The Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group once again rolled out an impressive display of high performance off road machines and a talented line up of drivers to lay down an all out assault on nearly every class of competition. Headlining the team of course is Carey Hart piloting the #46 Unlimited 2, followed by Unlimited Lite specialist Chris Brant in the #82 Toyota. Reigning SuperLite Champion, Chad Leising, proved his worth during LOORS Round 1 and returned to avenge a sloppy finish in Round 2. John Fitzgerald, the 2007 Limited Buggy Champion, missed the first LOORS race weekend, but arrived fully prepared for battle with the #314 Buggy freshly wrapped in Rockstar Hart and Huntington PMG Team graphics. Rounding off the PMG Army of short course racers was a duo of Modified Trophy Karts piloted by Anthony Busnardo and Brandon Vermillion.

Premiere Motorsports Group recently moved the entire program into a brand new facility which left little time to develop and dial in several of the race vehicles. Because of this, the second weekend of LOORS, began with a bit of uncertainty. Fridays schedule called for a full day of practice tuning and qualifying, however the Arizona desert spirits had different plans tossing mishaps and misfortunes to a number of race teams. The PMG Crew recently installed a new Tubeworks rear end and hubs on all four corners of the #46 Unlimited 2. During Fridays practice sessions it was apparent the truck was down on power and suffering from a number of problems. While in staging for a qualifying session on Friday, Chad Leising’s #17 SuperLite suffered an engine failure eliminating any opportunity for decent seat time on the new track. Anthony Busnardo’s #502 Modified Kart suffered from major engine failure on Fridays practice as well.

The experienced professional crew members at PMG immediately devised a plan of action to get these three back in the game. Redline Performance was called to the scene to assist in the tedious task of installing new Fuel Pumps, Ignition, and coolers, complete with a near total re-wiring of the Unlimited 2.

Premiere Motorsports Group took position of a Honda 450 Modified Kart on Friday evening in order to get Anthony in a competitive and working vehicle. Busnardo wasted no time and began transforming the fresh addition into the new Rockstar Hart and Huntington PMG Trophy Kart for Saturday’s races.

Speed World’s track workers designed a course that presented several high speed sections, plenty of passing opportunities, and a number obstacles creating a scenario where the smartest drivers would come out on top. As expected, the racing unfolded with non stop action and tremendous carnage. It is a sure bet that every single fan got what they paid for and are sure to return again during the 5th stop when LOORS revisits Surprise Arizona in mid October.

Chris Brandt defined his status as a short course Rockstar, running consistently at the front of the pack and throwing down some of the top times throughout the weekend. Brandt qualified the #82 Unlimited Lite with the 2nd fastest lap times for both rounds and ultimately earned two 2nd place finishes for a total of four in a row. This will position Chris second in points behind Robert Naughton and in a good contention for a championship battle.

The SuperLite series has quickly become the icon of spec class racing specific to short course off road. Chad Leising has emerged as a strong competitor bringing the Rockstar Hart and Huntington Premiere Motorsports Group sponsored SuperLite to the podium a number of times in only 4 rounds. Just this last Sunday, with co pilot Tony Talbert, General Tire’s Light Truck Product Manager, Leising energized the crowd and impressed many by fighting off the dominant Speed Technologies threesome of John Harrah, Johnny Harrah and Chuck Dempsey for a thrilling 1st place finish.

John Fitzgerald broke into LOORS with a fantastic performance earning two more podium finishes for the Rockstar Hart and Huntington Team. Consecutive 2nd place finishes is not too shabby, however Fitzgerald was aiming the #314 Limited Buggy to a dominating first place finish during Round 4 when the brakes failed and Bryce Menzies edged him out of 1st place.

Carey Hart struggled with the tired Unlimited 2 Chevrolet all weekend. The PMG Crew had the truck well prepared with a number of upgraded components installed. Fox Shoxs re-valved the suspension package and the truck seemed more predictable overall, however the power was just not available and could not keep up during the races. Carey focused on the task at hand to get some seat time and get comfortable competing in 4 wheeled vehicles verses two. Throughout the weekend and in between a very complex schedule of non stop business and promotions, Hart did take the time to stop by a several local businesses for meet and greets around town and made the day complete for many fans at the track during the scheduled autographs sessions.

PMG Racings accomplished weekend is the product of numerous individuals and support of strong companies brought together to create this offroad racing powerhouse. The brands like Rockstar Energy, Hart & Huntington, Geico Powersports, Liquid Graphics, Honda of Santa Ana, Fantasyoff-roadracing.com, Simpson, Chronic Tacos, and General Tire will ensure a number of achievements & results throughout the 2009 season. Additional support from KMC Wheels, JSTAR Motors, National Concrete Cutting, Century Collusion Center, NRGX, Screen Works, Corona Millworks Racing, FNTech, Blurred Motion, Bully Dog Technologies, compounds the level of accomplishment Premiere Motorsports Group has already attained.
